his week I thought I'd write my email in way of PHOTOS to explain what I've been up to. :D

The first one is a pic of Hna. Zuñiga and I enjoying some good old chilean food during our break time.

The second is a picture of the Bishop's daughter, Cristina. She's got stomach cancer but is such a cute little girl and is ALWAYS smiling.

Third.. This week I got an awesome package from Petra. THANK YOU!!

Fourth.. On Friday we did a family home evening with the young women. We taught a little class and then afterwards did a little crafts project. We made flowers to give out on mothers day.

More photos...

Talking to my wonderful family on Mother's Day.

Saturday we did a service project and helped an investigator out in her yard. I cut down all the grape vines, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. :)

Sunday the primary came into relief society and sung to all the mom's. Here's a pic of all the kids.

FOTOS!!!

Here are some pictures of the recent baptisms in Los Platanos. The first one is Goretti, she was baptized on the 15th of April. She´s one of the elders investigators. It was awesome that Pres. Laycock was able to attend her baptism. The second one is Abigail, 11 years old. We´ve been teaching her for about 5 weeks and she was just baptized yesterday. Then there´s a photo of my "daughter" Hna. Zuñiga and I.

Hi!!

Alrighty tighty.. this week has been pretty darn great. Well any week with a baptism is a great week! :) Abigail got baptised yesterday. It was so cute, I just love seeing baptisms and thinking about what it really represents. We spent most of this week teaching Abigail and preparing her for her baptism.
IT RAINED!!! Friday well it didn´t just rain it poured and the streets, like they do in chile when it rains, flooded. I actually thought it was pretty cool. We got pretty lucky and were able to be in houses teaching during the worst parts of the storm. Unfortunately we haven´t been so lucky as to have hot water. Yeah.. our water heater kind of broke this week, the elders came and took it on Friday and since it was a weekend we´ll just barely be getting back tonight. 5 days without warm water. I have a new appreciation for the pioneers and anybody who lived back in the times when they had to heat their water up on the fire, which is basically what we´ve been doing with our stove.
Oh another funny story.. We were passed a guy on the street and I heard him say "no saben por quien trabajan" (you don´t know who you work for) I then stopped and asked him what he meant. He then said that back in 1975 the CIA started sending spies down to Chile in the form of mormon missionaries. He then said but you don´t know you´re just young girls. I told him he was invited to the church anytime to learn the truth, but it was really quite funny. I had heard stories of people thinking that missionaries are spies but that was my first experience.
This week I have set the goal to read the Book of Mormon, Doctrine & Covenants, The New Testament, and The Pearl of Great Price before the end of my mission. Good thing I´m like 2/3 of the way done with The Book of Mormon and Doctrine and Covenants already. I have gained such a profound love for the scriptures, each day I´m learning something new and it really is like a big feast for my brain. Oh in case you didn´t know one of my favorite things to do now is EAT, luckily I still haven´t gained a pound. Seriously the scriptures are amazing. I tesitfy that they ARE TRUE and that they have the power to help us at anytime and are able to help us with any of the difficulties in life.

I love you all SO very much and I hope you have a fantastic week!!

Hola!

Today I have completed 13 months in the mission! ... but who´s counting. Also today were changes. Well I´m staying in Los Platanos but I´m changing companions. Actually I´M TRAINING!!! CRAZY! I´ll be training Hermana Zuñiga, she´s from Argentina. I really don´t know anything else about her but I´m way excited to get to know her and help her learn everything about the mission. Honestly I´m not too nervous but maybe I will be once I´m all on my own with her. I hope that I can be a great example to her.
This week has been pretty fun. On Monday Hermana Barmore and I got permission to go the mall and meet up with Isabel, a convert from Lo Cañas. It was WAY fun. We just had luch together and told a bunch of stories. I am so grateful for that opportunity. Isabel is so AWESOME and I´ve missed her a lot. This week we had a ward activity. We really didn´t have a lot of people show up which sucks because it was a great activity. We did it on temples and Family history. I was so excited to talk about the topic since it´s like one of my favorite topics. It ended up being a great activity I just wish more people would have gone. On Saturday we had a stake activity for the youth, "Missionary for a day." I´ve already done this activity with 2 other stakes. Basically we meet up with the youth in the stake center in the morning, study with them, eat lunch and then go and work in our areas. Well there weren´t any young women that showed up so after lunch Hna. Barmore and I went back and worked in our sector. On Sunday the elders had a baptism!! President came and spoke at the baptism, which was awesome. Then after the baptism he told Hna. Barmore and I what our changes were going to be. I´m not going to lie I was pretty surprised. I thought I might be training but not in Los Platanos. I really thought that since Hna. Barmore only has one change left that she would stay and I would leave. I am really excited to stay in the ward and I really didn´t want to leave. I am SO EXCITED to stay in Los Platanos. We´ve got quite a few investigators now we´ve just got to get them to come to church!! I hope that Hna. Zuñiga and I can get a lot done this change and help everyone to feel the spirit when we enter their homes. I love my mission so much! I just want to serve with all my heart, might, mind, and strength!!
